The apartment is located on the second and top floor of a typical building of Florence historical center. The apartment is ideal for two people, very intimate and cosy. It consists of a bright and comfortable living room, a small but fully equipped kitchen, a double bedroom and a bathroom. The bedroom opens up on a terrace furnished with table and chairs. The bathroom is accessed from bedroom.
Inside the apartment there is everything you will need to enjoy your time in the best possible way. In the living room there is a smart TV with Netflix in English (or your preferred language) and of course Wi Fi internet access. The house is equipped with air conditioning in every room. In the kitchen there are toaster, kettle, Nespresso coffee machine with pods included. There is also a washing machine and an iron.
The building is a typical one of the historical center and therefore there is no lift and the stairs are rather narrow but they are not many despite being the top floor. The apartment watches on Via dei Neri but being on the top floor it is not particularly noisy. Especially the bedroom – being at the back of the building – is very quiet.
The apartment is located in one of the most famous and popular streets of the historical center, thanks to the presence of many bars and restaurants. Although considered to be in the Santa Croce district, the apartment is also very close to Palazzo Vecchio, the fourteenth century Town Hall building. The Santa Croce district is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and lively of the historical center. The church of Santa Croce is certainly the main attraction of the area, in its crypt are the tombs of some illustrious people like Galileo, Machiavelli and Michelangelo. The big square often hosts events and demonstrations, the most important being the games of the historical football which is held every year in June. In this period the square literally turns into a sand arena surrounded by stands. All this said we can easily call the Santa Croce district one of the best places to stay in Florence. However, if you decide to find your home elsewhere, remember to come and visit during the day but also in the evening.
The apartment is located inside the ZTL (the limited traffic zone where cars are not allowed without a permit). It is also in a pedestrian area that cannot be reached by car during the day despite having a ZTL permit. Taxis can reach the apartment at any time while “private” cars with permit can reach it only in the early morning and in the evening. However the apartment is about 5-10 minutes walk from the entrance to the limited traffic zone – so our advice, if you come by car, it is to leave the car in a parking lot outside the ZTL and then reach the apartment on foot. Alternatively, you can leave your car in a paid garage (if the garage is inside the ZTL you can enter it). Parking close to the center anyway is never easy and you almost always have to pay for parking even if it is street parking.
